Towards the valley at 40 km/h

The Plose – a mountain range in the Lüsner mountains near Brixen, South Tyrol – now has one attraction more: the Plosebob.

Mountain Innovations GmbH has realised the first project of its kind in Italy with a ROLLBOB® track over one kilometre long in the Dolomites. This required the combined forces of the STREICHER Group. The expertise, the company's ecological mindset and the technical advantages of the ROLLBOB® convinced the customer.

The project is an extraordinary example of the synergies within the STREICHER Group. The drilling technology division was responsible for design, procurement, documentation, assembly and final installation. The electrical engineering division was responsible for electronics, hardware and software. ZIERER Karussell- und Spezialmaschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG provided support in the development, planning and production of the revolver and catapult (two world firsts from our own company).
The revolver is a special underground garage for the bobsleighs, which is directly connected to the track. The second element, the catapult, is an innovative launch system that allows passengers to select their preferred launch speed using a touchpad.

The Plosebob is part of a new overall experience on the Plose, which is divided into nature and family attractions on the one hand and adrenaline rushes and mountain bike trails on the other. Adrenaline is guaranteed on the 147 metres of altitude difference, which the ride overcomes at around 40 km/h. Another special feature of the lift is that it is divided into two descents of 480 and 200 metres, which are interrupted by a 330-metre ascent including a tunnel section of around 100 metres. The official opening will take place in spring 2024.
