Since 2023 the TENP I, originally installed within the 1970s, has been replaced by a new line, the TENP III. On behalf of the Trans Europa Naturgas Pipeline GmbH & Co. KG, a joint venture of OGE and Fluxyx TENP, STREICHER was decisively involved in the realisation of this project. Over more than 110 km of the existing pipes of the TENP I were removed and about 93 % of the new TENP III were laid into the existing route parallel to the TENP II, which is still in operation. Moreover, numerous crossings and special structures were carried out. From the beginning the requirements for the construction activities due to environmental sustainability have been very demanding – after all the pipeline crosses the biosphere reserve and the bird sanctuary Palatinate Forest. On the basis of the steep gradients special teams and material ropeways were used during the civil and pipeline works.
