RoboCT is a robot-assisted computer tomograph that is unique in the world in terms of its size, flexibility and accuracy. With prior knowledge of the object to be scanned, the system can calculate the fastest, collision-free paths for the robots. Usually an operator has to program this manually beforehand. The trajectory is calculated with the help of a digital twin. This also monitors the robot positions for collisions during operation. With laser trackers, the robots can be positioned with an accuracy of 0.3 mm. This enables high-precision 3D reconstructions and 3D X-ray images of e.g. batteries for electric vehicles.
