Currently, the Rothenstein bypass is being realised in a joint venture with the Rothenstein tunnel project. While the joint venture partner was commissioned with the execution of the 385 m tunnel, STREICHER carries out a wide range of services in road construction as well as bridge construction and civil engineering inside and outside the tunnel. Around 25,000 m³ of reinforced concrete; 62,000 t of frost protection material; 18,000 t of asphalt and 4,000 t of Wildenau granite will be used for the construction works. The majority of the building materials is obtained from quarries and asphalt mixing plants of the STREICHER Group.
The aim of the traffic project is to connect the already completed extension sections of the B 88 with a new section that runs directly through the so-called Trompeterfelsen and to relieve the village of Rothenstein from through traffic as of the year 2022.
